This beautiful girl came to the studio when she was 3 weeks old. Her mom and dad brought things from their home that reflect their love of the outdoors, of hunting and fishing and nature. We used their items and mine to create these images. Sweet AJ apparently loved being swaddled, since she slept all the way through. She slept until it was time to eat and go home.

This gorgeous boy was very curious about what was going on in the studio. We'd get him asleep and his eyes would pop back open. He was a darling and did let me rock and pat him, he liked that. With my youngest grandchild being 2 soon, it always feels nice to hold a new baby.
He came just 6 days after we went to his families' Weatherford farm to photograph his mom, dad and big brother.
Nina Jade could not be more beautiful. The third of Angela's 3 daughters, she is a perfect little rosebud of a baby.

I recently had the honor of going to my home state of Michigan and photographing my niece Heather and her Fiance Eric for their wedding and preparations and reception. It was like a family reunion. I drafted my brother-in-law Terry to help and 2nd shoot for me and it was just a blast to see all of my husband's family again. They were always like my own family from the first time we met. Eric's parents are sweet and fun and it was a great day.
Heather made a beautiful bride. Her sister Jamie was her matron of Honor. Her nephew's (Jamie's sons) were ring bearers and her niece Emma (Jamie's daughter) was the flower girl. Emma was the most beautiful flower girl ever.
Heather's parents walked her down the aisle to her awaiting groom. The reception was also held at Hawthorne Gardens in their reception tent. We took a break between the ceremony and the reception to go to the Brooks Memorial Fountain, a gorgeous Greek Revival fountain that is in a small park in a round-about. We crossed the street "Beatles Style" to get to the fountain to a chorus of car honks and whoops and one "don't do it, man!" to which we replied "It's too late!" http://www.marshallmich.com/history/fountain.shtml
This was just a great day and I wish Heather and Eric all the best in the world.

Quinn came to the studio for his newborn pictures with his mommy and daddy. I had photographed his beautiful momma Tiffany when she was pregnant with little Quinn. She and husband Darrell are so sweet and it was nice to see them all again today when they came to see this video.
Tiffany wanted to recreate this image holding Quinn:

This handsome boy came to the studio with his equally handsome big brother. He was a good sleeper who liked to keep and arm or a leg out of the wraps. Without fail, he'd stretch one out. I was able to try out some new backgrounds and cocoons with Brooks and his big brother Grant. I am in love with the green bicycle background. Grant is such a sweet big brother and gave his brother kisses and posed with him so well.

If you are into driving any kind of fast cars on a road track, you have heard of Motorsport Ranch in Cresson Texas, a one-stoplight town that has all of 1043 residents spread over 3 counties. Which is to say, there's not much else here other than Motorsport Ranch and Wakesport Ranch, a wake board lake they installed a couple years ago.
So late last year I was contacted by a Military Man who lived in Arkansas who wanted to bring his girlfriend to Motorsport Ranch, drive exotic cars with Drivexotic and propose to Tracy in a Lamborghini. Yes, I'll do it!
So it happened yesterday and it was a surprise and great fun for everyone who made this day special, from Terry the contact person at Motorsport Ranch, to Josh and Ryan the Drivexotic instructors, and of course, I loved it. Tracy had wanted to come and drive for a long time and Greg was so stealthy with his questions over the months, it didn't occur to her that the questions about what her fantasy car would be were actually questions to find out which cars to reserve for her.
The weather even relented for them. They had storms when they were supposed to drive at 10 am, so the track moved the time back and they were able to drive in what ended up being a gorgeous afternoon. Image above-Josh with Drivexotic and Tracy

Tyler Paige
Tyler came to the studio in February. We did several outfit changes and set changes and she played along so sweetly with everything. She was such a delight. Her momma brought the bedding set that was made by a friend and I thought it went perfectly with my little 4 poster bed. She LOVED laying on her back and grabbing her toes. Photographing babies is such fun and such a joy. I truly love photographing babies. She thought she was a really big girl sitting in the red rocking chair. She did so great and I love all her pictures.

On March 2nd and 3rd, I photographed the Texas heroes Foundation "March 2 Texas", Texas Independence Day Celebration. There were contests for children in essay writing, art displays, crafts and musicianship. This group encourages knowledge and history of Texas and Texas founders. There were many colorful characters on display, including a chuck wagon, Texas Cowboys, Sam Houston, A country Preacher, Ladies in Mourning, A Confederate Soldier. There was a celebration of Elizabeth Crockett, Davy Crockett's widow at Acton Cemetery. There were several direct descendants of David and Elizabeth Crockett in attendance.
Groups of children form Acton middle School came on a field trip to see the reenactments and watch the ceremony at Elizabeth Crockett's grave, which featured "Sam Houston" laying 13 yellow roses on her headstone.

A video I made from past sessions and from family portrait sessions highlighting beauty. There's so many places to find beauty, where will it take you? Will you go for a walk, or sit quietly in nature, will you throw a ball to your best friend? Or hold a grandbaby? We are surrounded by it. There's beauty in love, life, strength and joy. There's beauty in the first steps of a grandchild or the wrinkles and creases of a great grandparent.
Beauty is fleeting, images are forever...document it.

Sophisticated Country Wedding
at Classic Oaks Ranch,
Mansfield Texas
The October 3, 2014 Wedding of Lauren Boutwell and Terry Blair was so beautiful and fun. A perfect blend of sophistication and country. Both the ceremony and reception were held at Classic Oaks Ranch in Mansfield Texas. The owners have created what I think is the perfect wedding venue.
The GuysThe guys, big and small wore jeans and boots. This wedding was a wonderful mix of sophistication and country. I think Lauren and Terry Blair created their own category! Sophisticated Country!
